1. How does the text related to the theme of a journey?
Every single step we take in life is a journey.This story tells about a lifelong journey that had been taken by a woman named Waris Dirie, which was the writer of this book.This book described a journey literally taken by her alone everyday to watered her livestock,the journey that she had taken when she was running away from her father after her father had set up a marriage with an old man,the journey that she had taken when she was travelling all over the world in searching for job and the journey when she had been travelling all across the world for the women's rights campaign.The true journey stated in this text related to the main theme is the journey of her,Waris Dirie of becoming a powerful in sort of she was able to help many women that were being mistreated all around the world from a clueless,naive young girl.

2. What is the main issue in the text?
The main issue from this text is about the fairness for all human being all arround the world.Every human in this world deserve to be treated fairly and equally as any other person on earth.No one should be mistreated and no one should be left alone without any help.Everybody should have the rights to speak and to give their oppinions rather than make them shut up and do everything as being told.The main focus in this text is about the unfair treatment for the women in Somalia where they were being force to married someone they barely know and do not even love them and are needed to obey everything thier husband or father demanded.For those who disobey would be consired rude and might be dismembered from the family.The unfairness also streched into religious affair.The women were forced to let the genital organs being cut away by reason that they will be a true woman,clean adn marriable after the ritual.This is not what has being told in the Koran which is the Holy Testaments for Moslem.The men misunderstood the true meaning of the Koran and use it for their own good and greediness without thinking about what will thier daughter or wife suffered.

3. What quality do you admire or dislike in a character?
I have always adored people who can continue their life successfully even when they have so much grave problems.I always wondered how could they achieve to have all that.All I knew from the main character,Waris Dirie that we need to determined on our own what we want and continue pursuing it and never give up.Make the best out of life in what ever situation that your involved yourself into.What life gives you lemon,make a lemonade.Do not regret and the most important,do not forget your origin.Because by remembering your origin,you would never be someone else even though you have travelled to so many foriegn land.Waris never give up,determined,do everything she thinks right and helping those in needed is the quality that I admire the most.

4. How does the text develop your understanding of the world?
Living in my own country and never travelled to any foreign country had made me think that my life is not as good as it should be.But after reading the text,I realize that even though I am in a very bad situation,there is other people who is in a more worst situation than me.Living in a very deserted place,no water,not enough food,frightening culture adn what scared me the most was being homeless and donot have any where to lay your head the last thing I would wish to have in my life.It help me to treasured anything I have now and never be so demanding.Make the best of anything.
